Right or Righteous?

The beauty of LIFE is in the contrasts.

We would not know happiness, if there is no pain.
We would't see light if it never went dark.

We wouldn't appreciate courage till we saw cowardice
We would not know the worth of righteousness, till we see utter unethical shamelessness

Cigarette Stubs

Went picking Cigarette Stubs today. Two bags full! And I could fill them in a walk of less than 500 meters.

I was excited about this task and was almost looking forward to it. My enthusiasm started to lessen as I started to think about the state of mind of people who smoke. How depressed that state must be.

Finally I lightened myself by humming Louis Armstrong's tune and completed this fun task. Even if it wasn't so entertaining, it did amuse the people passing by :)

"I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky......"

9 black rabbits!

I got to feel the fresh air of this beautiful day as late as 6.30 am, when I started my walk to office.

Took a different route and was appropriately rewarded by nature - met 9 black rabbits and 1 grey rabbit on the way!

I had to find out, what rabbits like to eat, so I can carry some treat for them tomorrow.
Easy - just googled it and found out that they relish brocolli and sunflower seeds.

So I have both these things ready in my bag.
Lets see if they like it or just give me the 'you really think we like brocolli!' looks :P

It is so much fun to dare to do something different as part of this week's agreement of "break the pattern".

While walking to office, I hopped along the way. I woke up at 6 am on Saturday to go out for a walk to explore a different route. I stepped down the stairs, two at a time etc etc

It feels great to do things I would never do normally. Yes, that includes buying sunflower seeds for rabbits, just because the internet said so!

Trained Horses

Eyes are windows to the soul. No one said its restricted to human beings. Eye contact with this black, sturdy horse brought out the real beauty in him.

The ears show that he is alert, yet he looks so calm and kept gazing at me, while I 'shot' him.

His colour and the white mark on forehead reminded me of 'Black Beauty'.
My first real contact with horses was through that novel by Anna Sewell. It filled me with emotions unknown to me at that age. A mix of sadness and revenge and urge to do something against cruelty to these beautiful mute creatures.

I wonder if animals also think its 'gay' to kiss same sex? The black and brown horses certainly looked happy and gay, showing affection to each other. They actually did a 'tongue to tongue', but I was too slow to capture it :)

May be one day I learn to ride a horse. Mount on a horse and go "tuduk tuduk ".... :)

Wild Flowers

Wild flowers at Säby gård / Järvafältet. A natural reserve having a horse riding club with many horses.

I love yellow flowers and they look perfect in the green background.
Aww.. look at them - beautiful !

I almost got run over by a tractor, when I was shooting a video of this.

We talk about creativity. I think that we understate this word, every time we use it for anything not created by God.
Such lovely colours - I fell in love!

Thanks to this new buddy in my life, I can re-live those moments of pure joy.
White and Blue - Hmm, not bad! Though - yellow and green rules, this is a close second :)

And I must learn to take better pictures. This one doesn't do enough justice to its true colours!
To see the flowers sway in wind, reminded me of a video I saw for promotions of Nikon5000D. I realized - hey let me try too! It is when I was testing my Nikon with video of swaying flowers, that the tractor came roaring by and I ran for my life!
I am quite sure I saw the driver smile afterwards! It was intentional, I should sue him :)

Saturday Morning with Rabbit!

Since last week I had planned to go exploring another route for my morning walk to office.
Good that I took the camera with me and met this little innocent creature on the way.

He kept running here and there, but remained curious enough to not to vanish completely.
I think this one was very brave. Most rabbits I have seen quickly disappear.

The sweet innocent looks as I kept taking burst shots of him :)
Busy eating. I have a video too, where he is munching the grass and enjoying every minute of his food.

Morning Beauty

Walked for 75 minutes today from Stavangargatan to Rissne Centrum. It was a beautiful morning and I could see the grass covered in frost.Usually the walk takes 60 minutes, but today I got lost in my thought processes and took a wrong route, hence the extra 15 minutes!
I could hear my feet crushing the gravel and then when I walked on the grass, I realized it was so much quieter around me, except for the pleasant chirping of the birds.

There is a horse stable on the way, but I do not know that route completely, so I must explore that further on Saturday. It might shorten my walk a bit and also guard me more against the sun!

And last but not the least I love watching the horses, so it will be good if there is a way to Rissne through the stables.

Some days I go cycling on this route, and last time I collected a lot of branches.

Now those branches have tender, tiny leaves and I love to see this miracle every morning.
Today I stopped for 1 minute to watch the birds with lovely colours, as they sipped on water or as they hit the tree trunk with their teeny meeny beaks.
Yesterday when I cycled back home, it was dusk and the skyline was orange and red and beautiful! Fresh Air and Deers! One of them was perplexed to see me and felt trapped. Finally it hopped away from me as fast as it could and disappeared in the yellow dried grass.

Alicia

Alicia - first ever dog that I took for a walk from the Dog Stable . She is the most well behaved dog and in some way she taught me some basic lessons in life. We passed across many dogs, and she noticed each one of them. But didn't bark even once! Even at the dogs who barked at her. She just sat and watched them intently, as if reading them :)

Thank you Alicia, for this wonderful walk that you gave me. !

The Namesake

I was familiarized with this movie/novel after seeing one odd episode of Koffee with Karan. Now this K factor brings with it a lot of compelling views, but with great difficulty let me restrict my thoughts to the concerned topic.

So I read the novel with a background noise that Tabu and Irfan have acted well in the movie. Needless to say, while reading it the faces of Mr and Mrs Ganguli were reserved for these two people. I generally don’t appreciate this. The best part about reading is to test the ability of the author to sketch a character. And the beauty of it that the same description draws a different canvas on every mind that reads it.

Never mind. Jhumpa Lahiri made me the director of this movie. I could imagine Tabu doing the things described in the novel and now after having seen the movie, I can’t differentiate between an actual scene from movie and my imaginative scenes not even included in the movie!

Very simplistic in approach - talks of nothing that we (Indians) already don’t know, yet in a way that is new. My feelings for Mr. GG keep changing all the time. He irks me at times especially when he refuses to visit his family to go on holiday with friend’s family. And empathize with him in two real sad moments of his life.
Well true to public opinion, Tabu did a fantatic job. But I would prefer to rate the novel with better points.

Pride and Prejudice

I recently happened to watch this movie and thought of writing my first ever review. Not that at the age of 27 this should sound very thrilling, but yes to me writing the first review is a weird feeling.
Ok, going back to the movie, it’s an excellent piece of work. If you have also been the victim of the Indian version of this movie 'Bride n Prejudice' you'll have all the more reasons to appreciate this wonderful romantic movie.
Right from the silent love of Jane and Mr. Bingley, who are not the main characters to the battle like love of 'Lizzy' and Mr. Darcey, its been weaved like a dream. And as the title suggests, the pride and prejudices govern all that follows between the two of them.
The sets of the movie are nice as well. The country side, Darcey's grand mansion and all other places suit the period of the movie and the characters merge with the same.

I admired Bennet family's affection for each other. The last dialog between 'Lizzy' and her dad is particularly touching. And before I forget, Mr.. Darcey looks arrogantly handsome :o)

If in UK, then you can also visit the locations used in movie. http://www.visitprideandprejudice.com/
Must watch!
